Ceylon Bay Owl

The Srilankan Bay Owl is a species of bay owl in the family Tytonidae. It is endemic to the island of Sri Lanka and the western ghats in Kerala, South Western India. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist montane forests and high-altitude grassland. It is threatened by habitat loss. The owl is of a small size with a distinctive V shaped shield in front of its face. The Ceylon Bay Owl feeds on large insects and small vertebrates.
