Hide Photography

Eldhose Birding Hide provides an excellent opportunity to observe and photograph a wide variety of birds at close proximity. We have four hides which are strategically placed and one can expect to get an excellent photograph with clean background.

The best season to visit our hides are from September 15 – March 30th. Capacity is 10 person per hide and we can accommodate 20 people per day in different hides.

  • Location: Thattekad , Munnar
    • Closest airport: Cochin International Airport (COK) one hour drive
  • Suggested focal length : 200 mm – 600 mm.
  • Morning Session : 6:30 am – 9.00 am.
  • Afternoon Session : 2:15 pm – 6.00 pm.
  • Required Clothes : Brown, Black , Green
  • Distance From Eldhose Birding Lodge : Two hides are very close to the stay (100 m). Other two hides are within 4 kms.
  • Transportation to the hides can be provided on prior booking.

DO’S and DONT’S

  • Please adhere to the hide timings. No one will be allowed to join or come out once the hide session starts.
  • Do not try to move around or switch the seats inside the hide.
  • Do not wear bright color clothes for the hide sessions.
  • Carry water bottles along with you to the hide if required.
  • Do not leave water bottles and snack packets inside the hide once the session over.
  • Maintain silence throughout the session .
  •  Carry Tripod, extra battery as well as memory cards for the hide session.
