Eldhose Birding Lodge – is located in Thattekad , Kerala. It is one of the richest bird habitat of peninsular India according to the great ornithologist Salim Ali. Eldhose Birding Lodge is nestled deep in a 10-acre plantation. The lodge is for bird watchers and nature lovers. It is a birder’s paradise.The envious location of the lodge affords long walks in the wild country and unexplored territories, the experience of which is enhanced by some of the most experienced guides. Eldhose Birding Lodge is a must visit place for all bird lovers with around 300+ species round the year , without doubt thattekad is one of the most promising paradise for birds and mammals . This beautiful birding lodge is home to charismatic birds, some of which are found only in the western ghats. Including the elegant White bellied Treepie, the graceful Malabar Parakeets, the colourful Malabar Trogon and the camouflaged Sri Lankan Frogmouth.

All our guides are naturalists with exceptional experience and who know the primary forests of Thattekad intimately, and have an amazing knowledge of the Thattekad wilderness and its people. Accommodation: We offer many accommodation options, and can cater for up to 20 pax(twin sharing).
6 Cottages with attached European toilets and bathrooms , 4 Rooms with attached European toilets and bathrooms . All with hot water and charging points for mobile phones and cameras. The entire construction is handiwork of traditional builders with prime focus on vital natural elements—sunlight, wind and rainfall.

Our kitchen serves Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner for all the guests. A variety of dishes to satiate both vegetarian and non-vegetarian palettes are served with utmost emphasis on hygiene, freshness of the food and ingredients.

Cochin International Airport (COK) is the nearest International airport, which is 40 km away from Thattekad.
By Train:
Aluva Railway station, about 36 km away from Thattekad, is the nearest railhead. Regular train services are available from major cities in India.
Pickup and drop facilities from airport/railway station can be arranged on prior request.
